About the Person

Mark Ehrnstein has served as global vice president of team member services (HR) at Whole Foods Market since 2009. - See more at: http://media.wholefoodsmarket.com/experts/subject-experts/mark-ehrnstein#sthash.s4YSLUiJ.dpuf Ehrnstein joined Whole Foods Market in 1999 as director of team member services for the Northern Pacific Region and became director of team member services in the Southwest Region in 2003. In 2005, he was recognized by company leaders as a national global all*star, most notably for his leadership during the company’s Hurricane Katrina response. Following the natural disaster, he worked tirelessly to ensure that each of the 565 team members impacted by the catastrophe were provided with additional funds and services to help them relocate, as well as a guaranteed job at a neighboring Whole Foods Market store. Ehrnstein holds a bachelor’s degree in industrial organizational psychology from San Francisco State University. In 2007, he received senior professional in human resources certification from the Society of Human Resource Management. He resides in Austin, Texas, with his wife–who is also a Whole Foods Market team member–and their three sons.
