Marjorie Cion is the Director of Human Resources at Westport Public Schools, effective July 6, 2015. As Director of Human Resources she is responsible for hiring all school district employees. Darien schools have approximately 60 new teachers this year. The district faced an unusually high number of last minute resignations. She comes from the same position at the Westport School District, where she served for approximately seven years. Before being a human resources and personnel professional she was a corporate attorney with experience in municipal finance and employment benefits law. Cion was active with the Westport PTA and served on the board of education, and was also the chair of the Westport Board of Education. She transitioned into a position as an assistant to the superintendent in Westport before taking over as the human resources director there. Cion has five grown children, ranging from 19 to 27 years old, all of whom graduated from the Westport school district.
