Collier Health Services, Inc. (d/b/a Healthcare Network of Southwest Florida) was founded as a nonprofit organization in 1977 by a group of community leaders to address the health issues of migrant and seasonal farm workers, rural poor and other citizens in Collier County. Their first facilities were two small trailers in Immokalee. From the start, the nonprofit was committed to providing basic medical and dental healthcare services at an affordable cost while ensuring dignity and respect to each individual served.
Since joining HCN in 2014, Maria has served as a Human Resources specialist before being named Vice President of Human Resources. Prior to joining HCN, Maria spent over fifteen years in Human Resources focusing on management in both the service and construction industries. She earned her B.S. in Business Management and her M.S. in Health Administration and maintains multiple professional certifications (SHRM-CP and PHR). Throughout her career she has given back to the community through volunteering with the Council of Hispanic Business Professionals and the Living World Family Church. Local leadership is very important to Maria as she sits on the Board of Directors of the Leadership Collier Foundation and as the current President Elect of HR Collier.
