The Community Foundation of Sarasota County is a public charity founded in 1979 by the Southwest Florida Estate Planning Council as a resource for caring individuals and the causes they support, enabling them to make a charitable impact on the community. Each community foundation is governed by a board of directors made up of respected volunteer business and civic leaders chosen to represent the rich diversity of the population.

 

About the Person

Margaret "Peg" Beck is the Director of Human Resources at Community Foundation of Sarasota County.   In her new role, Beck provides a wide variety of human resources support to all levels of the organization, ensuring the comprehensive administration of human resources policy and procedures.   She has almost 25 years of experience as chief human resources officer, providing strategic and operational oversight in both the public and private sector. She most recently retired as the executive director of human resources at State College of Florida, after 16 years.   Jones earned a bachelor`s degree in finance from the University of South Florida. She joined the foundation in 2013 as controller, and was promoted to vice president in August 2015. Jones started her career at Kerkering, Barberio & Co. CPAs, where she spent nine years.   In Jones` new role, she is responsible for the foundation`s accounting system and processes, including the preparation of the annual financial statement audit, tax and regulatory filings, budget, and overseeing the financial operations of the Giving Challenge and Season of Sharing.
