Lorraine Weaver Washington is the Senior Vice President of Human Resources at Summa Health, effective August 10, 2015. She will be responsible for all aspects of Human Resources, including the critical alignment between HR and operations strategy. A skilled strategist and dynamic leader, Washington comes to Summa from St. Dominic Health Services and St. Dominic Hospital in Jackson, MS, where she served as Vice President of Human Resources for the past four years. Prior to St. Dominic`s, Washington worked for Mercy Medical Center in Canton as Vice President of Human Resources and Support Services. In addition to her healthcare experience, Washington`s career has spanned several industries in multiple states, including executive-level human resources work for companies such as Corporate HR Solutions, LLC, Cox Communications and McDonald`s Corporation. Early in her career, she worked for the U.S. Army as both a journalist and personnel administration specialist. Washington has a Master of Arts degree in Organizational Management from the University of Phoenix and a Bachelor of Arts in Business Administration from Eastern Kentucky University. She holds several licensures and certifications and has been very involved in the communities in which she has lived. Washington has two children and will reside in Chagrin Falls after relocating from Mississippi.
