Methodist was founded through the efforts of deaconesses of the Methodist Episcopal Church. On May 24, 1900, Methodist opened as Deaconess Home and Hospital, with 20 beds and its own school of nursing. The first permanent building was dedicated in 1917
Located in the city of Oceanside, Tri-City Medical Center is a Gold Seal-approved, full-service, acute-care hospital. It features two advanced clinical institutes and physicians practicing in 60 specialties. The hospital, a leader in robotics and minimally invasive technologies, has served the community for more than a half-century. It primarily serves the cities of Oceanside, Vista, Carlsbad and San Marcos. Facilities include our hospital campus at 4002 Vista Way in Oceanside, nearby outpatient services and the Tri-City Wellness Center in Carlsbad.
