Liz Huckerby is the Chief of Integrated Talent Management and Deputy Director of Human Resources at United Nations Development Programme, New York. Liz has extensive experience as a Senior Manager and Human Resources practitioner, with a particular background in Talent Management. Liz has expertise in enabling leaders to manage their talent overtly and with confidence, as well as in designing and shaping internal services to align with strategic direction. She is passionate about cultivating a culture where people can do their best work, and believes in providing managers with the tools they need to recognise and nurture the best talent, leading to increased capability, resilient people and stronger organizations. Working now for UNDP for just over 12 months, the largest UN agency, she is responsible for talent management. She leads a small team based in New York, Copenhagen and Bangkok including engagement, gender and diversity, performance, leadership and learning, strategic sourcing and organizational design. Liz joined UNDP from the New Zealand Transport Agency, where she has worked as the Group Manager of People and Capability leading a merger of two agencies and where she was a member of the Senior Leadership Team. Among her other working experience, she has held senior management roles in New Zealand at the Inland Revenue Department where she was Deputy Commissioner for Internal Services and at the State Service Commission, has undertaken work in other government agencies including in Australia, and has also worked in the private sector as a senior manager at Deloitte. She is a member of the HR Institute in New Zealand and of the Chartered Institute of Personnel and Development (CIPD) in the United Kingdom. Originally from the UK, Liz has lived in New Zealand for 17 years and in New York for 1 year. Liz has a degree from London University, an HR Diploma from Kingston Business School, a Post Graduate Certificate in Education, a Post Graduate Diploma in Health and Safety, and holds a Masters Degree in Business Management from Massey University. Liz enjoys drawing and the creative arts, good food, good wine and the company of good friends.
