About the Person

Lisa Steiner is Senior Vice President and Chief Human Resources Officer of Brown-Forman, and a member of the company’s Executive Leadership Team.   Steiner began her career at Ogilvy & Mather Advertising.  She joined Brown-Forman in 1987 in marketing. For several years, she held positions of increasing responsibility in Wines and Spirits brand management.   Steiner later assumed vice president positions in the Wine Group and the Business Consulting Group at Brown-Forman.  She also served as interim president of Hartmann Luggage in 2001 and was later appointed chairman of Hartmann’s Board of Directors.  During her leadership, Hartmann was stabilized and realized significant improvements in profitability.  Brown-Forman later divested Hartmann from its portfolio.   Steiner holds an undergraduate degree from Northwestern University and earned her MBA from Bellarmine University. She has participated in executive education at the University of Virginia, the University of Michigan, and at Northwestern University.   Lisa, her husband and four children in Louisville.  She is active in community service and the arts.
