About the Company

Lifespan, Rhode Island`s first health system, was founded in 1994 by Rhode Island Hospital and The Miriam Hospital. About the Person

Lisa Abbott, MBA, is the Senior Vice President of Human Resources for Lifespan. Abbott started on March 1, 2016.   Abbott joined Lifespan from Penn State Hershey Medical Center, in Hershey, Pennsylvania, where she served as associate vice president for health affairs for human resources and chief human resources officer. Penn State Hershey has approximately 10,000 employees, including 1,100 clinicians and scientists, and consists of a 550-bed adult and children`s hospital, rehabilitation hospital and psychiatric hospital.   Abbott`s previous experience includes serving as senior director for human resources at Weill Cornell Medical College in New York.   Abbott holds an MBA in international business from Binghamton University, Binghamton, New York.
