About the Person
Laura Smith is the Vice President of Global Human Resources at Digital Intelligence Systems, LLC. In addition to her wealth of experience spanning more than 25 years, Ms. Smith is a recognized innovator in the Human Resources space with particular achievements in building and launching successful employee engagement programs to drive companies to greater employee satisfaction, retention and overall business success. Since joining the DISYS team in November 2014, Ms. Smith has hit the ground running with her goal to transform the company`s HR operations into an `HR Partnership` model. To accomplish this, she has conducted a comprehensive re-structuring of the HR Business Partner Program to more clearly define roles and streamline efficiency and communications between the company`s consultants and the HR team at the company`s corporate and global levels. Using a tiered response approach, this effort has already resulted in positive changes to consultants` experience with the company. Ms. Smith is also spearheading the company`s first-ever HR Summit in February, 2015 to introduce her new strategy and re-branding efforts to drive her target initiatives forward over the next three years. Ms. Smith holds an M.S. from American University, SPHR (Senior Professional in Human Resources) and SHRM-SCP (Society for Human Resource Management – Sr. Certified Professional) certifications, and brings an established track-record of significant achievement and success in implementing innovative HR programs. Prior to joining DISYS, Ms. Smith was the Executive Director of Human Resources for Edelman and she has also held positions at Mercer, Foster Higgins, and PepsiCo. She is also an active participant in a number of community organizations, and serves on the Board of Directors for the Global Diversity & Inclusion Foundation while also donating her time to support ongoing efforts to eradicate serious diseases.
