North Mississippi Health Services is a diversified regional health care organization, which serves 24 counties in north Mississippi and northwest Alabama from headquarters in Tupelo, Miss. The NMHS organization covers a broad range of acute diagnostic and therapeutic services, offered through North Mississippi Medical Center in Tupelo; a community hospital system with locations in Eupora, Iuka, Pontotoc, and West Point, Miss., and Hamilton Ala.; North Mississippi Medical Clinics, a regional network of more than 30 primary and specialty clinics; and nursing homes.

 

About the Person

Laura Land serves as Chief Human Resources Officer for North Mississippi Health Services, effective May 1, 2015. She is responsible for managing the recruitment, retention, education, employee health, compensation and benefits for the organization`s employees.   Land, who joined NMHS in 2015, previously worked as the chief human resources officer for Vidant Health in Greenville, N.C. In addition to Vidant, Land was employed as chief human resources officer at OU Medical System in Oklahoma City and Central DuPage Health in Winfield, Ill., and senior vice president at Carilion Health System in Roanoke, Va.   A native of Winder, Ga., Land received a bachelor`s degree in music education and a master`s degree in educational counseling from Duquesne University in Pittsburgh, Pa. She has completed doctoral course work in higher education administration, research and evaluation, and public administration through the University of Miami in Coral Gables, Fla.   She is a fellow in the American College of Healthcare Executives (ACHE) and a senior professional in human resources certified by the Human Resources Certification Institute. She holds membership in the Society for Human Resources Management and American Society for Healthcare Human Resources and is a former adjunct assistant professor at the University of Oklahoma College of Public Health.
