Glenrock is located in Central Wyoming at the foothills of the Rocky Mountains nestled along the Deer Creek Tributary System. Deer Creek flows into the North Platte River approximately one mile north of town.
Originally, what is now Kandiyohi County was two separate counties - Kandiyohi and Monongalia. Both were established in 1858 and both functioned independently until the two counties merged twelve years later in an economical move.
