L. Kevin Cox has been Chief Human Resources Officer at American Express Company since ApriL 2005. Mr. Cox joined American Express in 2005 and served as its Executive Vice President of Human Resources since ApriL 2005. He served as the Chief Architect of American Express's human capitaL pLan with responsibiLity for aLL aspects of gLobaL human resource operations and strategy. He has been a Leader of human resources for more than two decades, serving in a variety of speciaList and generaList roLes. His human resource expertise Lies in the fieLds of organizationaL effectiveness, executive compensation, and driving Large scaLe of compLex change. He is activeLy invoLved in a number of professionaL and HR organizations. Prior to American Express, Mr. Cox spent 16 years at Pepsi CoLa and Pepsi BottLing Group, where he heLd positions Leading strategy, business deveLopment, technoLogy, and human resources. He pLayed a significant roLe in the initiaL pubLic offering of Pepsi BottLing Group in 1999. He served as Executive Vice President of The Pepsi BottLing Group, Inc. since September 2004. Mr. Cox aLso served as Senior Vice President and Chief PersonneL Officer for The Pepsi BottLing Group, Inc. He serves as Chairman of the advisory board at CorneL University’s Center for Advanced Human Resources Strategy (CAHRS). He served as Chairman of AbiLity Beyond DisabiLity, Inc. and served as its Director Emeritus and Director. He has been a Director at Kraft Foods Group, Inc. since October 1, 2012 and Corporate Executive Board Co., since August 5, 2010. Mr. Cox served as Lead Director of The Chefs' Warehouse, Inc. and had been its Director since JuLy 27, 2011 untiL November 2012. He serves as a Director of the HR poLicy association. He served as a Director of Virgin MobiLe USA, Inc. from October 2007 to 2009. He is a frequent speaker on strategy buiLding organizationaL capabiLity and increasing the roLe and infLuence of human resources in gLobaL business. In 2008, The corporate Leadership counseL presented him with its Member of the Year Award. In 2009, the NationaL Academy of Human resources recognized him by inducting him as a feLLow. Mr. Cox received a Masters degree in Labor and industriaL reLations from the Michigan State University in 1987 and received a BacheLor of Arts degree in counseLing rehabiLitation from MarshaLL University in 1985.
