Kenneth J. Carrig, also known as Ken, has been Corporate Executive Vice President and Chief Human Resources Officer OF SunTrust Banks, Inc. since June 1, 2011. Mr. Carrig oversees human resources strategy, talent management, human resources systems, employee relations, human resource policies, training, development and more. Mr. Carrig served as Executive Vice President of Human Resources at Comcast Cable Communications LLC, an affiliate of Comcast Corporation since February 2, 2009. He served as the Chief Administrative Officer and Executive Vice President of Sysco Corp. from January 1, 2005 to January 23, 2009. He served as Senior Vice President of Administration at SYSCO Corporation from January 1999 to January 1, 2005. Mr. Carrig joined SYSCO in May 1998 as Vice President. Prior to joining SYSCO, he served for 20 years in general management and administrative positions in various industries, including Head of Human Resources for Continental Airlines Inc. from 1995 to 1997. In November 2004, he was installed in the class of Fellows by the National Academy of Human Resources (NAHR), in recognition for his sustained contributions to the broad field of human resources. Mr. Carrig has been a Member of Advisory Board at Pearlhps since February 2014. He serves as a Member of the advisory board of the Cornell Center for Advanced Human Resource Studies, a National Academy of Human Resources Fellow (2004), and was named the Academy of Management Distinguished Human Resources Executive (2010). Mr. Carrig co-authored the book, "Building Profit Through Building People" in 2006, the proceeds of which benefit Share Our Strength, an organization dedicated to fighting childhood hunger. He participated in leadership development education and training at Columbia University and Yale University. Mr. Carrig earned a bachelor of science degree in labor economics from Cornell University`s School of Industrial and Labor Relations in 1981.
