Back in Motion is the British Columbia leader in rehabilitation, disability prevention and employment solutions. Since 1993, BiM has provided quality innovative solutions to workers, employers and job seekers, as well as to program funders. We have grown to over 200 employees and contractors, and presently deliver rehabilitation, assessment, and employment programs and services in Richmond, Surrey (Newton), Surrey (Panorama), Vancouver, Coquitlam, Port Coquitlam, and Langley. Back in Motion has received recognition as an excellent workplace (Great Place to Work Institute Canada 2006-2008, including being named the #1 workplace in Canada in 2007; Psychologically Healthy Workplace Award 2009; Richmond News Profile of Excellence 2013).
Ken Hemphill is responsible for Back in Motion`s Human Resources Department, including strategic planning, policy development, hiring, pay and benefits, and staff development. He completed his Ph.D. in clinical psychology at the University of British Columbia in 1996, and began work with Back in Motion Rehab in 1997. Ken is registered with the College of Psychologists of British Columbia, and is a member of the British Columbia, Canadian and American Psychological Associations. In his years with Back in Motion, Ken has worked as a Psychologist in chronic pain programs, supervised and mentored staff, and managed BC Ministry, WorkSafeBC, and private company programs. Ken is excited about creating a work environment that combines professionalism and fun, where staff members have the opportunity to do their best and enjoy coming to work each and every day.
