About the Person
Kathy serves in a dual role as General Counsel and Chief Human Resources Officer within the executive leadership of the company. As General Counsel, she oversees all global legal matters for the company and is responsible for managing multiple teams across the business, including: Legal, Security, Data Privacy and Compliance. Additionally, Kathy serves as Chief Human Resources Officer, leading the global human resources, technical and non-technical training, and internal communications functions companywide. Kathy also serves as Corporate Secretary. Previously, Kathy served as Senior Vice President of Legal and Tax for Research Now. In this role, she oversaw all global legal and tax matters for the company, and was responsible for managing the Legal and Tax teams. Kathy brings nearly 30 years of experience in the legal field, serving various roles throughout her career. Prior to joining Research Now Group, Inc. (then e-Rewards, Inc.) in 2006, Kathy served as Assistant General Counsel and Director of Taxes for Hotels.com, an operating company of Expedia, Inc. Prior to this, she served as Vice President and Associate General Counsel for Clear Channel Entertainment, formerly known as SFX Entertainment, Inc. and a wholly-owned subsidiary of Clear Channel Communications. She also served as Tax Counsel for SFX Entertainment, Inc. and Participating Associate at Sheinfeld, Maley & Kay. Kathy began her career in the tax industry as a Senior Tax Analyst at The Dow Chemical Company. Kathy was named a Best Corporate Counsel Finalist by the Dallas Business Journal in November 2011. She was also selected by The General Counsel Forum as a Finalist for the Magna Stella Award for Small Legal Department in August 2012. Kathy graduated Magna Cum Laude from Arizona State University with a Bachelor of Science in Accounting and received her Juris Doctorate from the University of Houston Law Center. She is a member of the American Bar Association and the State Bar of Texas.
