About the Person

Julie G. Duffy is Textron’s executive vice president, human resources. She was named to this position in July 2017. Duffy leads Textron’s worldwide human resources function as well as communications, corporate real estate, community affairs, and the company's aviation department. Duffy serves on Textron's Executive Leadership Team and chairs the company’s Benefits Committee and Charitable Contributions Committee. Duffy was previously Textron’s vice president and deputy general counsel – litigation. She managed the Corporate litigation staff and had primary oversight of all litigation throughout the company, including product liability, government contract, aviation, employment and intellectual property litigation. In addition, Duffy provided counsel on insurance issues and served as the company's senior legal advisor on employment matters, playing an active role in developing, implementing and standardizing human resources policies across the company. Duffy joined Textron's corporate legal team in 1997, and has served in litigation positions of increasing responsibility. She has been a leader in the company's intellectual property initiatives, including the formation of Textron Innovations Inc. and the company's intellectual property management team. She also served as a member of the enterprise Engineering and Technology Council focusing on intellectual property protection and talent development. Prior to joining Textron, Duffy was a commercial and employment litigation attorney at Pillsbury Winthrop in Los Angeles, CA. Duffy earned her bachelor’s degree from Georgetown University and her J.D. from Boston University. She completed Textron's Global Leadership Forum at the University of Pennsylvania's Wharton School and the Senior Executive Leadership Program at Duke University.
