\r\n Juan Carlos Martinez is the Director of Human Resources for Secondary and Recruiting at Irving Independent School District, effective April 1, 2015. In his new role, Martinez provides leadership for all personnel activities to ensure the selection and retention of high-quality staff, as well as implement effective personnel programs, policies and practices. He is responsible for the professional and paraprofessional staffing of secondary schools and will oversee the talent recruitment for Irving ISD. Prior to that, Martinez served as the director of campus operations and attendance initiatives for the Irving Independent School District. An educator of 18 years, Martinez has served the last 12 in the Irving ISD. In addition to his current position, he has also been a school counselor, assistant principal, district-wide program coordinator of the parental involvement program and administrator of campus operations for the district. He began his teaching career in Dallas ISD in 1996. Martinez earned a bachelor`s degree from East Texas Baptist University in Marshall and two master`s degrees in teaching and school administration from Texas A&M University-Commerce. He is pursuing a doctor of education degree in educational leadership from The Southern Baptist Theological Seminary.\r\n
