About the Person
John A. Marques is the Chief Human Resources Officer at Vidant Health, effective Oct. 12, 2015. Marques has more than 30 years of strategic human resource experience as a member of executive leadership teams at public, private and not-for-profit organizations. He most recently served as vice president and chief human resources officer for The University of Arizona Health Network, an academic health care system comprised of physician practice plan with more than 600 member physicians, two academic medical centers and ambulatory clinics. Marques is a member of the Society for Human Resource Management and founding board member of LINKAGES, a nationally recognized nonprofit that assists individuals with disabilities in securing meaningful employment. He hold certification as a Senior Professional in Human Resources (SPHR) and a Society for Human Resources Management Senior Certified Professional (SHRM-SCP). He has a Bachelor of Science in Communication from Emerson College in Boston, Massachusetts and a Master of Science in Communication/Organization Development from Purdue University in West Lafayette, Indiana. Marques and his wife Julie are relocating to Greenville. They have two grown children, Erika who lives in Boston and is a Social Worker and son Taylor who is a senior at the University of Arizona.
