About the Person
John D. Hursh is Vice President of Human Resources for CoxHealth, a position he`s held since 2007. Hursh has more than 30 years of health care leadership experience in human resources and related fields. He has also served as leader of a local civil rights agency, as an adjunct faculty member for Urbana University in Urbana, Ohio, and in the U.S. Army. In his current role, Hursh serves as the chief human resources officer for CoxHealth. His teams provide child care; recruit and hire all employees; orient new staff; administer wage and benefit programs; resolve employee relations issues; maintain records; and support culture-building within CoxHealth. He holds a bachelor`s degree in political science and a master`s degree in personnel counseling from Wright State University in Dayton, Ohio. He is a member of the Society for Human Resource Management. In the community, Hursh is an active member of the Sunrise Rotary Club. He serves on the local United Way board of directors and is a Chairman`s Club volunteer with the Springfield Chamber of Commerce.
