About the Person
John Hooper is the Vice President of Human Resources for Standard Insurance Company. Prior to joining The Standard in 2014, he was the senior vice president of Human Resources & Shared Services at Weyerhaeuser Company since 2008. Before that, he was vice president of Human Resources Operations from 2006 to 2008. Prior to working with Weyerhaeuser, John founded People Management Resources, Inc., a management consulting firm focused on leadership effectiveness, people strategy and HR best practices. He also held leadership positions at Eaton Corporation and Tektronix. John obtained his Bachelor of Science degree in Business from the University of Colorado and a Masters in Business from Northern Illinois University. John has served on several nonprofit boards, including Catlin Gabel School, Executive Development Institute (EDI) and the Willamette University MBA Advisory Board.
