About the Company

About the Person

John Berger has more than 19 years of experience in the power industry. He co-founded Sunnova Energy Corporation in November 2012, and serves as Chief Executive Officer. Sunnova is a residential solar power company providing widespread coverage to thousands of homes throughout the United States and U.S. territories. Mr. Berger has been working together with his original management team for eight years in the solar power industry. Prior to Sunnova, he co-founded and served as Chief Executive Officer of SunCap Financial, a leading residential solar power service company. SunCap was sold in 2012. Prior to SunCap, he co-founded Standard Renewable Energy (SRE), a top ten provider of renewable energy and energy efficient products and services for residential, commercial and government customers. SRE was sold in 2010. He also co-founded and served as Managing Partner for Contango Capital Partners, LP, a venture capital firm focused on renewable energy and energy technology companies. He began his career in 1996 as an analyst for Enron Corporation. He completed his tenure there as Director for Enron Energy Services before leaving the company in the summer of 2001 to attend business school. He served as an advisor during business school to the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission. After graduating cum laude from Texas A&M University with a Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering, Mr. Berger continued his education, earning an MBA from Harvard Business School in 2003. He and his wife, Kristen Sullivan Berger have four children and are active in the community.
