About the Person

Jochen Schumm served as the Chief Human Resources Officer and Member of Executive Board at MAN SE since July 2012 and June 2012 respectively until July 1, 2015.   Mr. Schumm ended a successful career with the Volkswagen Group after 51 years of service. He completed a commercial apprenticeship at Volkswagen AG in Hanover from 1964 to 1967. Mr. Schumm served as the Chief Human Resources Officer of MAN Truck & Bus AG from June 2, 2012 to July 2015 and as its Director of Human Resources & Labour Relations and Member of Management Board.   He served as Chief Human Resources Officer at SEAT, S.A. from 1994 to 1996. He served as Head of Human Resources for Passenger Car Brand at Volkswagen AG until July 1, 2011. He served as Personnel Director of Volkswagen Commercial Vehicles. He started his career in human resources at Volkswagen in 1970 following his training as an industrial clerk.   From 1970 to 1982, he worked in human resources and welfare at Volkswagen AG in Salzgitter. He went on to hold various management positions at Volkswagen AG in Wolfsburg from 1982 to 1986, with the last being as head of the payroll department in human resources and welfare. He then moved to SEAT S.A. in Spain, where he was the head of human resources and welfare services from 1986 to 1989.   From 1989 to 1994, he held various human resources management functions at Volkswagen AG in Brunswick and Wolfsburg, which included responsibility for the central collective bargaining and human resources strategy function and for central human resources and collective bargaining. From 1997 to 2000, he saw him as Head of human resources at Volkswagen AG in Wolfsburg and in 1999 he also served as Head of the services business unit. He served as Head of Human Resources, Germany at Volkswagen AG since 2008.   Since July 2000 until 2011, he was the Member of the Board of Management, responsible for HR at Volkswagen commercial vehicles. He was a Member of the SEAT Executive Committee with responsibility for HR in 1994. In 1997, he was Head of HR in Wolfsburg and was named Chief Negotiator of the Volkswagen AG collective bargaining commission. He serves as a Member of Advisory Board at hannoverimpuls GmbH. He serves as a Member of Supervisory Board at MAN Diesel & Turbo SE.
