Scania is a leading manufacturer of heavy trucks and buses as well as industrial and marine engines. The company also markets and sells a broad range of service-related products and financing services. Scania is a global company with operations in Europe, Latin America, Asia, Africa and Australia. Scania is the world`s third largest make for heavy trucks and the world`s third largest make in the heavy bus segment. Scania operates in about 100 countries and has more than 42,000 employees. Of these, around 17,600 work in sales and service, some 12,800 in production, about 3,400 with research and development. Scania`s Head Office and technical centre are located in Södertälje, Sweden. Scania has more than 1,600 sales and service points globally, of which 1,000 in Europe. The corporate purchasing department in Södertälje is supplemented by local procurement offices in Poland, the Czech Republic, the United States, China and Russia. Production takes place in Europe and Latin America.
