About the Person
James C. Godwin has served in the Bon Secours ministry for over twenty-eight years as a leader in the Human Resources department in Central Virginia at the director and vice president levels. Currently he is the ranking Human Resources strategic business partner for Bon Secours Virginia Health System. Jim is certified as a Senior Human Resources Professional (SPHR) by the Human Resources Certification Institute. He was the President of the Virginia Society for Healthcare Human Resources Administration (VaSHHRA), received the prestigious Paul Guy Mentorship Award from the American Society for Healthcare Human Resources Administration (ASHHRA), served as the Chairman of the Henrico County Public Schools Career & Technical Education Advisory Council, and has completed Bon Secours` Ministry Leadership Formation program. He is a longstanding member of VaSHHRA, ASHHRA, and the Society for Human Resources Management (SHRM). Prior to his employment with Bon Secours, Jim worked for the Hospital Corporation of America and Roanoke Memorial Hospitals. Jim earned a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology from the University of North Carolina at Wilmington and a Masters in Personnel Management from Lynchburg College in Virginia. He lives in Glen Allen, Virginia.
