About the Person

James Ayers is the Acting Director of Human Resources at City of Asheville.   Prior to that, he served as General Services Director at City of Asheville.   He is a professional with leadership experience in both the public sector and private industry, including stints with national homebuilders, a regional contractor, and local government.   Ayers has performed project management in South Carolina, North Carolina, Georgia, and Florida with key experience in construction of capital projects & infrastructure, land acquisition & entitlement, land development, and real estate.   He has also performed general management and special projects including business development, competitive intelligence, economic development, international trade, procurement, contract administration, facilities & asset management, fleet management, grant administration, and strategic planning.
