The Indiana Department of Revenue was created by an Act of the Indiana General Assembly on Feb. 18, 1947. The Department is headed by Commissioner Mike Alley. The Department of Revenue is responsible for providing service to Indiana citizens regarding state tax matters. Additionally, the Department administers state tax laws, develops regulations and makes decisions about tax policy.
The mission of the Mississippi Office of Homeland Security (MOHS) is to partner with federal, state, and local emergency response personnel during both man-made and natural disasters, as well as working to prevent, protect, and respond to threats and/or acts of terrorism within our state. This office will act as the nexus for information sharing through its direction of the Mississippi Analysis and Information Center (MSAIC) and will lead efforts in "All Hazard" prevention, preparedness, and response by continuing to foster strong partnerships across professional response disciplines. MOHS will further the education of the Mississippi citizenry through awareness and outreach efforts. These efforts are accomplished through training, equipping, and informing the populace about the steps necessary to keep themselves and their communities vigilant and prepared.
The Committee on Science, Space and Technology is a committee of the United States House of Representatives. It has jurisdiction over non-defense federal scientific research and development. Specifically, the committee has partial or complete jurisdiction over the following federal agencies: NASA, the Department of Energy, EPA, ATSDR, NSF, FAA, NOAA, NIST, FEMA, the U.S. Fire Administration, and USGS.
U.S. Naval Meteorology and Oceanography Command has approximately 2,500 globally distributed military and civilian personnel, who collect, and exploit environmental information to assist Fleet and Joint Commanders in all warfare areas to guarantee the U.S. Navy`s freedom of operation in the physical battlespace from the depths of the ocean to the stars. The air, ocean, seafloor, stars, and time clearly matter for naval operations and our national security. Our forces provides home field advantage for our nation`s away team, the U.S. Navy. Through our people, capabilities, and innovation, we will expand on this advantage as we evolve into a critical component of a future holistic force. We consist of a ready force of well-qualified, well-educated and deliberately trained Sailors, civilians and contractors serving in a wide-range of operational, technical/scientific and service support billets around the globe. In addition, we provided accurate and timely knowledge of the current and predicted physical battlespace from the depths of the ocean to the stars - we provide data to decision makers. Lastly, we are the Department of Defense leader in innovating and transforming new technology into an operational advantage. An experienced early adopter of unmanned systems, we employ inventive ways to inform tactical decisions and depict information. We are a key component of the Navy`s innovative culture and a catalyst for future evolution, and we must outpace our competition to ensure American Forces retain a technical warfighting edge.
