The Greater Owensboro Chamber of Commerce was founded in 1913 after starting as the Owensboro Businessmen`s Association in 1893. Through the years, the Chamber has been the primary business advocacy group for the community. Today, the Chamber has 1,000+ members and is run by a 23-person board of directors. A reception for local community representatives and members of the Phoenix-based Arizona Hispanic Chamber of Commerce inspired the formation of a local chapter. On May 18, 1989, the Tucson Hispanic Chamber of Commerce (THCC) was incorporated in the State of Arizona.
The mission of the Alaska Humanities Forum is to use the humanities to tell stories and impact the lives of all Alaskans. The Forum is a 501(c)(3) organization. Founded in 1972 by the National Endowment for the Humanities (NEH), the Forum is one of 56 state and territorial groups also supported by the NEH. The Forum is also a member of the Federation of State Humanities Councils. The Alaska Humanities Forum engages Alaskans in humanities-based projects and innovative programs which are either funded by the Forum or run directly by the Forum.
