About the Person
Glenda Jones is the Chief Human Resources Officer at Cabarrus County Schools since March 2014. Prior to that, Jones served as assistant superintendent of human resources for Lee County Schools in Sanford, where she was the senior personnel administrator for more than 1,200 employees. Jones has worked for Lee County Schools since 1997, beginning her tenure there as a teacher at West Lee Middle School and later as public information officer, community schools coordinator and an assistant principal before joining the human resources department in 2006. She began her career in education teaching special education at Black Hills Children`s Home in Rapid City, S.D. She earned a bachelor`s degree in education from Black Hills State University and a master`s degree in administration and supervision from the University of North Carolina at Pembroke. She also earned an education specialist degree in educational leadership from Liberty University. Jones enrolled in a doctoral program at Liberty University. In addition to her responsibilities for Lee County Schools and the pursuit of her doctorate, Jones also serves as the 2013-2014 president of Personnel Administrators of North Carolina (PANC).
