A leader in child development, Penfield Children`s Center creates a positive start in life for infants and children, many of whom have developmental delays or disabilities, by providing early education, health services and family programming. To carry out its mission, Penfield delivers research-based programs at the critical time of early brain development when physical, cognitive, language, social, and self-help skills are formed. Penfield Children`s Center is named in honor of Dr. Wilder Penfield (1891-1976), a world-renowned neurosurgeon who strongly advocated early intervention for children with developmental delays and disabilities. His quote, “never underestimate the capacity of the very young, and never, never let them down,” has been the foundation of Penfield`s mission since 1967. His knowledge and wisdom underlie our philosophy of care for infants and young children even today.
Volunteers of America of Massachusetts helps more than 3,000 individuals and their families annually through an array of residential and outpatient services including Residential Treatment Services, Veteran Services, Re-Entry, Outpatient Behavioral Health Treatment, and Independent and Assisted Living for seniors.

We do this in partnership with over 585 law firms, corporate legal departments, law schools, and bar associations has served more than 17,332 children since 2009, and trained over 41,000 private sector attorneys, paralegals, and law students to provide them with high quality representation in their deportation proceedings. KIND promotes protection of children in countries of origin and transit countries and works to address the root causes of child migration from Central America. KIND also advocates to change law, policy, and practices to improve the protection of unaccompanied children in the United States, by educating policymakers, the media, and the broader public about the violence that is driving children out of Central America and their need for protection.
