About the Person
Gary is Vice President, Labor Relations, Frito-Lay North America (FL) and responsible for the Labor agenda covering all 48,000 U.S.-based employees. He joined FL in 2003 as a Dallas site HR Manager, then progressed to HR Director for the 5 Texas manufacturing sites. In 2007, he was promoted to the Sales organization, responsible for the largest region (>$1B revenue). In 2009, he was promoted to Labor Director at HQ, then promoted to Labor V-P in 2010. Gary is known for delivering productivity and flexibility savings through negotiations in unionized environments, and supporting change initiatives in union-free settings. He is also recognized for outstanding contributions in the Diversity and Inclusion arena, particularly in the area of mentoring aspiring HR professionals. Prior to joining Frito, Gary was employed by Shell Oil/Chemical Company for more than 12 years. He started as an HR Generalist, then progressed to several roles including, Financial Auditing, Equal Opportunity, Legal and Labor Relations. Gary also was part of a team that developed and implemented a Company-wide dispute resolution program.
