This mission of the Health District is, “To assess, protect, and promote the health, the environment, and the well-being of Southern Nevada communities, residents, and visitors.” To this end, the Health District offers services and provides regulatory supervision that impact the public every day – from the food they eat and the water they drink, to the public establishments they visit, the businesses they operate and the requirements they must meet in order to work in certain industries such as food service and child care.
The California Highway Patrol (CHP) is dedicated to providing Safety, Service, and Security to California citizens and everyone who uses the thousands of miles of our state`s roadways. Each CHP employee is dedicated to ensuring you get home safely, that quality services are provided to you when you need it, and that you feel safe and secure as you travel throughout our great state. As the fifth largest law enforcement agency in the nation, the Department will continue its primary responsibility to anticipate and respond to the needs of the public which it serves. U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) develops and enforces regulations for human health and environment protection, as well as voluntary and technical assistance programs, and international coordination on environmental issues. The agency researches and sets standards for environmental programs and delegates. It was founded in 1970 and is headquartered in Washington, District of Columbia with ten additional regional headquarters offices (Boston, New York, Philadelphia, Atlanta, Chicago, Dallas, Kansas City, Denver, San Francisco, and Seattle) as well as more than a dozen laboratories, and other regional and programmatic offices.
Program Support Center (PSC) is a shared services provider within the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) that partners with agencies to collaboratively generate solutions to their most pressing administrative challenges. PSC provides valuable, cost effective, and innovative mission support solutions to foster government efficiency.
The City of Oxnard is located on the “Gold Coast” of sunny California, approximately halfway between Los Angeles and Santa Barbara, and is known as the gateway to the Channel Islands. Oxnard is a thriving center of commerce, tourism and industry in Ventura County. Oxnard is the largest city in the County with its population of over 200,000 residents. Oxnard services the needs of its culturally diverse population. While the City maintains steady growth with new development, it also promotes the preservation and economic health of its historic downtown. The City also operates more than 50 park facilities for its residents, as well as special purpose facilities. Oxnard`s leadership has adopted a plan with vision and conviction for an exciting future to further enhance business development and the quality of life. Oxnard is the only full-service city in Ventura County. Incorporated as a general law city in 1903, Oxnard operates under the council-manager form of government. The City consists of an elected Mayor holding a two-year term and four council members elected at large for four-year overlapping terms. The City Council acts as the Community Development Commission`s Successor Agency and, supplemented by two tenant commissioners, as the Housing Authority. The City Council is advised by several citizen commissions and committees. The population has grown significantly in the last fifty years, providing many challenges to local government and residents. Oxnard continually offers many opportunities for its enterprising and forward-thinking business community, while maintaining a family-friendly environment, as evidenced by the new parks that have opened throughout the City.
