Founded in 1947, The Dalad Group opened its doors as a small general contractor headquartered in the shadow of a Jones & Laughlin Steel Mill in Cleveland`s industrial Flats. Within only a few years the company evolved, taking on site development, build-to-suit and speculative development projects. Throughout the past half century, The Dalad Group has positioned itself on the leading edge of development trends. Some representative initiatives include: In the 1960`s, The Dalad Group established the Canal Road industrial market, literally creating hundreds of acres of industrial land by cutting down hillsides, filling low lands and re-channeling a segment of the Cuyahoga River in cooperation with the Army Corps of Engineers. In the Canal Road Industrial Park, the company developed Cleveland`s first flex building (Circa 1960). In the 1970`s and 1980`s, The Dalad Group began acquiring land along Rockside Road in Independence, eventually becoming Independence`s largest single land owner. The company also began assembling land at State Route #82 in Broadview Heights, initiating its focus on the broader south-suburban market along Interstate #77. In the mid 1980`s, The Dalad Group triggered the resurgence of downtown Cleveland`s Warehouse District, assembling 60% of The District`s 2.5 million square foot inventory of historic property. The company developed The Hat Factory, Cleveland`s first Tax Act loft restoration, and followed with The Hoyt Block, a pioneering office loft project. In 1996, The Dalad Group opened Beacon Place , the first new suburban building to emerge following the real estate recession of the early 90`s. Beacon Place introduced a variety of new design and engineering features to the marketplace. In 2002, The Company completed land assembly for Oaktree Office Park. The last large-scale commercial site in Independence, Oaktree Office Park will be the first masterplanned park in the Cleveland community to be unified through common graphics, landscaping standards and material palette. In addition to innovative development, The Dalad Group has also built a unique tenant representation business under the banner of Dalad Realty.
