The Alabama Policy Institute (API) is a 501(c)(3) non-partisan, non-profit research and education organization dedicated to the preservation of free markets, limited government and strong families, which are indispensable to a prosperous society. Established in September 1989, API bases its pursuits on the founding fathers’ ideas of liberty and the equality of all people. These are the same ideas on which two of the greatest documents ever conceived by the mind of man are based-the Declaration of Independence and the United States Constitution.
