Emily Schur is Vice President of Human Resources, Sun Life Financial U.S. In this role, Emily is responsible for overseeing the operations of the U.S. Human Resources division, including talent management, recruitment, employee relations, benefits training, and compensation. She also provides leadership and strategic insight to effectively leverage and recruit talent across Sun Life Financial’s North American operations. She was appointed to this position in March 2014. Prior to joining Sun Life, Emily served as Vice President, Enterprise Human Resources at The Travelers Companies. In this role, Emily partnered with the field and sales operations to help lead their successful transformation into a more customer-focused culture of over 2,000 employees across the U.S. With her broad experience across Human Resources, Emily is known for her ability to assess, design and implement talent management strategies to proactively solve for business challenges. While at Travelers Companies, she held multiple senior leadership roles, developing and implementing talent management and employee retainment strategies to promote an optimized workforce, as well as providing Human Resources Lead support for the operations and sales businesses. She also held management positions at Konover Construction Corporation and Manpower, Inc. in Connecticut. Emily graduated from the University of Connecticut with a Bachelor of Science degree in Human Development & Family Relations, and holds a Certification in Human Resources from St. Joseph College. She currently serves on the Board of Directors for Prudence Crandall Center, Inc. and is a member of the Society of Human Resources Management (SHRM).
