Gift of Life Marrow Registry is a nonprofit organization focused on curing blood cancer and other serious blood diseases through cellular therapy. Founded in 1991 and based in Boca Raton, Florida, it operates a 32,000 square foot facility that includes a donor registry, an apheresis collection center, and a cellular therapy laboratory. The organization connects patients in need with matched volunteer donors, facilitating bone marrow and blood stem cell transplants for nearly 100 conditions, including leukemia and lymphoma. The organization recruits volunteer donors using simple cheek swab kits for HLA typing, entering their profiles into a global registry. When a match is found, Gift of Life coordinates the donation process. They also engage in education and outreach efforts to raise awareness about marrow donation, particularly among underrepresented racial and ethnic minorities. Their Campus Ambassador Program allows students to organize donor drives and educational events, further promoting donor recruitment and community involvement. Gift of Life Marrow Registry is dedicated to saving lives through its comprehensive services and community initiatives.
