About the Person
Doug Macnamara joined The Banff Centre in March, 1994 and served as Vice President, The Banff Centre and General Manager, The Banff Centre for Management until July 2001 when he left and spun-off the privatized firm - Banff Executive Leadership Inc. During this time he built up annual programming from approximately 35 to over 150, increased annual participant numbers from 800 to 4,000. He led the development of dedicated programming areas for Indigenous Leadership and Management, Community & Not-for-Profit Leadership, plus enhancement to both Core Leadership & Management, and Governance & Executive Leadership programming. He also invented unique competency profiling and active learning processes. Doug has a B.Sc. in Biochemistry, B. Ed. in Environmental & Adult Education, Outdoor Educator’s Certificate and Certificate in Employee Benefits, the Certified Human Resources Professional and Certified Management Consultant Designations. He also completed the MLE program (Management & Leadership Education) at Harvard University. He is currently the Fellow for Leadership & Governance with Entovation International, and Fellow of Intentac - the International Entrepreneurship Academy.
