About the Company
Falls Church is an independent city 6 miles from the nation`s capital. This proximity has been a major influence on its development, especially over the last century. Falls Church City is small in area (2.2 square miles) and population (12,300), but its heritage dates back to the late 1600`s when it was an early colonial settlement. Falls Church was incorporated as a town in 1875 and as an independent City in 1948, led by parents determined to improve the quality of local schools. Lowther comes to Falls Church with more than 18 years of service in the public and private sector with time spent working for Arlington County, City of New London, Con. and at public schools in Waterford, Con. Lowther holds a Master of Science in Labor and Industrial Relations/Human Resources from the University of Rhode Island and a Bachelor of Science in Management Science from Kean College in Union, New Jersey. She also attended Rutgers University. Lowther is certified as a Senior Professional in Human Resources by Human Resources Institute and is a graduate of the NFBPA Executive Leadership Institute, sponsored by the National Forum for Black Public Administrators.
