Des Moines Public Schools is home to 30,000 students being provided with the most diverse educational programs offered in Iowa. DMPS is home to the state`s top Advanced Placement program, is Iowa`s only district to offer the International Baccalaureate Programme as well as a public Montessori school, and has nationally recognized programs such as Central Campus and the Downtown School.    The Des Moines Independent Community School District is accredited by the North Central Association of Secondary Schools and Colleges and the Iowa Department of Education.
