About the Person
Debbie Hernandez is an international executive with more than 17 years of experience in the travel and aviation industry. Currently, Debbie is vice president of human resources for the cargo business unit of LATAM Airlines. Most recently, Debbie played an integral role in the merger between LAN and TAM Airlines, managing aspects of the merger integration process involving HR and administration. Since joining the company in 2004, Debbie has held a number of roles, including serving as a global and key accounts senior manager for the cargo division, and is now responsible for overseeing human resources of LATAM`s cargo business unit worldwide, providing leadership and management of the HR strategy. Prior to joining LAN, Debbie was the general manager for Hermes Aviation (a Mercury Air Group Company) in Los Angeles, where she moved after serving as general manager of Hermes Aviation de Mexico in Mexico City. She began her career at the travel division of American Express in Mexico City. Debbie earned an undergraduate degree in Business Administration from the Universidad Anahuac in Mexico City, and an executive MBA from the Adolfo Ibañez School of Management. Throughout her career, she has also earned graduate certificates in Airline Management from the Universidad Adolfo Ibañez; Human Resources for Strategic Advantage from the Stanford Graduate School of Business; and Marketing from the Instituto Tecnologico de Estudios Superiores de Monterrey (TEC de Monterrey). Debbie is a certified coach from the International Coaching Community. She is a native of Mexico and currently lives in Miami, Florida.
