About the Person
Debby is Director of Payroll Information Management for Ernst & Young LLP’s Employment Tax Services where her experience in payroll research, process and audit, publishing, and advocacy is applied both internally and externally through publications, digital media, webcasts, training and project management with a federal, state and local employment tax compliance focus. Debby also functions as a thought leader and subject matter consultant on those projects involving payroll and employment tax requirements, including system configuration audits, process improvement and due diligence. Among her many activities in the payroll industry, she is currently advisory board member for Research Institute of America’s Payroll Guide, acting advisory board member of the American Institute of Professional Bookkeepers and is a frequent speaker for such organizations as Bloomberg BNA. Debby is Editor-in-Chief of Ernst & Young LLP’s popular news and thought service, Payroll Perspectives, and isauthor of the widely acclaimed Principles of Payroll Administration and the Payroll Practitioner’s Compliance Handbook, published by Research Institute of America, and Mastering Payroll, published by the American Institute of Professional Bookkeepers. Debera is a Certified Payroll Professional (CPP), 2004 Texas Payroll Conference Payroll Professional of the Year and an inductee of the American Payroll Association’s Hall of Fame.
