Faegre Baker Daniels is one of the 75 largest law firms headquartered in the United States and the largest law firm in the state of Minnesota. It embodies the values and character of a firm whose history is rooted in the work ethic of the Midwest.
David B. Sanders is the Chief Talent Officer at Faegre Baker Daniels where he leads a team focused on human resources, lawyer and consulting talent, diversity and inclusion, and pro bono and community service. David collaborates with the firm`s management board and executive committee on strategies for retention, development and feedback with FaegreBD`s more than 750 lawyers, consultants and professionals. He also coordinates the firm`s associate and consultant career model initiative. Before joining FaegreBD, David was chief human resources officer at Heller Ehrman LLP and then Sedgwick LLP, both headquartered in San Francisco. In his previous 17 years as a senior HR executive, he developed a range of strategic practices involving rapidly growing and changing businesses at both international firms. At his prior firms, David directed a wide portfolio of talent responsibilities, including managing the successful integration of employees, partners and HR policies and practices through acquisitions and mergers; establishing a strategically vital partner recruiting function; and organizing comprehensive diversity and inclusion programs. He designed management, lawyer and professional staff compensation and performance-based incentive systems to align with firm strategic objectives. David also initiated employee retention and recognition programs with a substantial and steady reduction in turnover costs, as well as building an innovative professional development curriculum for lawyers and professional staff. Previously, David served as the Gulf Coast Area Director of Human Resources for Ernst & Young and the Assistant Director of Human Resources in its Silicon Valley offices. David`s special interests include history, The Dave Matthews Band, Shakespeare`s histories and tragedies, Mumford and Sons, and hiking everywhere. His wife, daughter and son appreciate most of these and are kind to him about the rest.
