About the Person
Daniel Heffernan is the Vice President of Human Resources at Tyson Fresh Meats. Heffernan began his meat industry career in 1983 at the IBP beef plant in Emporia, Kan. He served as a production supervisor for two years before moving into human resources, holding a variety of positions including safety director and employment manager. Heffernan also served as the complex human resource manager at IBP`s Storm Lake and Waterloo, Iowa, pork plants before becoming a human resources director. Prior to accepting his current position, he worked in sales and marketing for 16 years. Born and raised in Sioux City, Heffernan graduated from South Dakota State University with a degree in agricultural business and commercial economics. He lives in Sioux City with his wife, Maureen, and their three children.
