About the Person

Daisy Ng has served as Chief Human Resources Officer for Darden Restaurants since June 2009. A member of Darden’s Executive Team, she leads the development of Darden’s people strategy as well as building organizational capability and employee culture to further enable Darden’s growth. She is also responsible for all aspects of the HR functions within Darden, including the oversight of the HR organizations within each of Darden’s operating companies. Darden owns and operates more than 2,100 Red Lobster, Olive Garden, LongHorn Steakhouse, Bahama Breeze, Seasons 52, The Capital Grille, Eddie V’s and Yard House restaurants in North America, employing more than 200,000 people and serving more than 425 million meals annually. In fiscal 2013, the company recorded more than $8.5 billion in sales. In 2014, Darden was named to the FORTUNE “100 Best Companies to Work For” list for the fourth year in a row. Daisy has more than 25 years of experience in human resources, holding various senior executive positions in a number of international companies in Asia Pacific, Canada and the United States. Her experience has included roles across a variety of HR functions: strategic planning, organization design and effectiveness, training and development, talent management, international and domestic relocations, staffing and planning, compensation and benefits, HR information system and operations. Daisy received a bachelor’s degree and an MBA from the Chinese University of Hong Kong. She served as a member of the Association of Training and Development (ASTD) Board of Directors from 2006-2008. Daisy is currently serving on the Board of the HR Policy Association, the leading organization representing chief human resource officers of 300-plus large corporations doing business in the United States and globally. In 2013, Daisy was elected to the National Academy of Human Resources (NAHR) Class of Fellows. This is considered the most prestigious honor in the human resources field and is awarded to those who have reached the highest level of achievement and management thinking in the human resources profession.
