Established in 1985, Alameda County Community Food Bank is a fast-growing, dynamic organization at the forefront of hunger‐relief efforts in the Bay Area. As one of the most efficient, direct-impact organizations in the country, few nonprofits are as well-respected – or make such an impact on the community – than us. The Food Bank ranks among the top 2% of nonprofits nationwide by Charity Navigator and was recently voted “Best Charity in the East Bay” by East Bay Express. The Food Bank serves 116,000 people each month – primarily children and seniors – and distributes enough food for 25 million meals through our innovative programming and our extensive network of 240 food pantries, soup kitchens and other community partner organizations. Feeding America is the nation`s leading domestic hunger-relief charity Feeding America is a nationwide network of more than 200 food banks that leads the fight against hunger in the United States. Together, we provide food to more than 46 million people through 61,000 feeding agecnies and meal programs in communities across America. Feeding America also supports programs that improve food security among the people we serve; educates the public about the problem of hunger; and advocates for legislation that protects people from going hungry.
