Avon Lake is a city in Lorain County, Ohio, United States, located on Lake Erie. The population was 22,581 at the 2010 census. It is part of the Cleveland-Elyria, OH Metropolitan Statistical Area. The Avon Lake Building Department issues permits for all construction of buildings and structures, and performs the required inspections required by each permit. The Building Department will answer all questions related to building projects and building construction issues by homeowners, architects, engineers, building owners, tenants and project managers.
