MedCentral Health System, a non-profit organization, was created January 1, 1996. With about 2,550 employees, we are the largest employer in the six-county area we serve. Our active medical staff numbers over 200 - 78 percent of whom are board certified - representing a complete range of primary care and specialty practices. We are the largest medical provider between Cleveland and Columbus, serving primarily Richland, Crawford, Ashland, Morrow, Huron and Knox counties. We are comprised of two general, acute care hospitals: Mansfield and Shelby, with a combined total of 351 beds and 42 bassinets.
