Cherokee County is a suburban county located in the US state of Georgia. As of the 2010 census, the population was 214,346. The county seat is Canton. Cherokee County is included in the Atlanta-Sandy Springs-Marietta, Georgia Metropolitan Statistical Area. Originally, Cherokee County was more like a territory than a county, covering everything northwest of the Chattahoochee River and Chestatee River except for Carroll County.
