Cheshire County government consists of two branches; a Legislative Branch, referred to as the county delegation, which is comprised of twenty-four Representatives elected for 2 year terms, and an Executive Branch consisting of three commissioners. Two of the commissioners are elected for 2 year terms and one is elected for a 4 year term on a rotating basis. The Cheshire County commissioners appoint a full-time county administrator to oversee the daily operations of the county.

The City of Fresno is located in the heart of the state in the fertile San Joaquin Valley. The location for the town was uninviting at best, with barren sand plains in all directions. However, Leland J. Stanford, a Company Director for the railroad, was so impressed with a wheat field he saw in the distance that he decided this was the place for the new station. In 1875 the Central California Colony was established south of Fresno which set the model for a system of development that was used throughout the San Joaquin Valley. Tracts of land were subdivided into 20-40 acre parcels, irrigated from a system of canals and often landscaped with boulevards of palms, eucalyptus or other drought-resistant trees. By 1903 there were 48 separate colonies or tracts in Fresno County which drew farmers and their families from Scandinavia and from across the United States.
The Town of Danvers, incorporated in 1752, is located in southwest Essex County, about 20 miles northeast of Boston. Danvers is primarily a residential community, occupying a land area of approximately 13.3 square miles, with an approximate population of 27,000. The bulk of our industrial and commercial activity is concentrated along Routes 1, 114 and 128 and Interstate 95. Downtown Danvers features a variety of retail and dining options. Danvers is fortunate to have many open space and recreation opportunities including a vibrant marina, Endicott Park and a 4.3 mile rail trail that links schools, downtown Danvers, parks, residential areas, and trails in the neighboring towns of Peabody, Wenham, and Topsfield.
