Village of Key Biscayne

Key Biscayne operates under the Council-Manager form of government in accordance with its Charter. Legislative authority is vested in a seven member Village Council consisting of a Mayor and six Council Members all elected at large and on a non-partisan basis. The mayor and the council members are elected by the electors of the Village for a two-year term. Its purpose is to prepare the local comprehensive plan and conduct the comprehensive planning program. All meetings of the Local Planning Agency are public meetings and agency records are public. The Master Plan was adopted by the Village Council by Ordinance 95-8, September 12, 1995 and accepted by the Florida Department of Community Affairs on October 20, 1995.
